START 4.0 is one of the eight highly specialized Italian Competence Centres promoted by the former Italian Ministry of Economic Development and focusing on Industry 4.0 enabling technologies, with a particular focus on security and optimization of the strategic infrastructures.
The core activities of START 4.0 focus on transferring knowledge, skills, and funding to SMEs and large companies through the expertise of its associates in multiple forms:
- Open calls for cascade funding initiatives
- Direct participation in R&D&I projects
- Mapping and scouting of funding and consortia opportunities.
- Ecosystem building and networking activities.
- Open Innovation brokerage.
- Highly specialised training related to the Industry 4.0 framework.
- Digital assessment, providing insight about the digital potential and vulnerabilities, and digital maturity assessment, including cybersecurity and cybersafety awareness.
- Laser scanner and georadar equipment devoted to Reality Capture, Utility Mapping and survey-grade 3D modelling.
